Science

What We Did Today
We corrected the Atoms Family worksheet and completed a graphic organizer. Students were then given time to practice identifying elements by looking at a drawing of an atom. They also learned how to draw an atom.

Homework
Finish today's packet. Remember that the atomic number tells you how many protons are in an atom and the number of protons is always equal to the number of electrons. To determine the number of neutrons, subtract the atomic number from the atomic mass. When drawing the electrons, remember that only 2 fit on the first energy level and 8 can fit on the second level.

Discussion Starters
Why are atoms electronically neutral?
