What We Did Today 

We summarized the best way to separate our mixture was by using the special physical properties of our substances. We were also able to determine that the white crystal in our mixture was sugar because after heating the substance it turned to caramel.  We then watched a video about Elements, Compounds and Mixtures.

 

Homework 

Work on your Chemistry Presentations. Your presentation may be in the form of a poster, Power Point, or Prezi. You are to clearly define and describe your branch of chemistry. You then are to include 5 big ideas about your topic.You may include: types of jobs you could have with a degree in your field, what specific tasks would your perform, what skills would be necessary to be successful, what would you do on a day to day basis, what type of environment would you work in, what special schooling would you need to get your degree, etc. Each big idea should have a graphic that make it easier to understand.  Be sure to keep track of your sources because you will need to cite them. You will be graded on accuracy, neatness, mechanics and oral presentation. The due date is set for Friday, December 9th.
